Redmond, WA – On Saturday, October 29, 2011, Washington State Attorney General visited Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple. He was well received by a crowd of over 300 attendees. His remarks are as follows:
Amitabha. I would like to extend my greeting as well to all who are participating this evening by webcast, including the many thousands who are listening to us right now, in Taiwan, and all around the world who are participating in this event by webcast. Truly, technology is a wonderful thing, that they could do that.
When I was a young boy, I lived in Bangkok, Thailand. Shortly after we arrived there, I began to see the Buddhist monks and the apprentices who would wear the saffron robes and would go out each day to ask for their meals. My parents explained to me that this symbolized great humility and also that it provided an opportunity for the community to provide support.
